Okay, how about - if there is anyone on here who would seriously like to be the next fan's director, post here or PM me your contact details.
When the elections come around, i'll ask the Trust to contact everyone who is seriously interested with all the details about how to put yourself forward.
All that is asked for in return is a £5 donation to the Trust, to contribute towards the administration costs (and you'll get a membership in return - but don't have to take it)
By my reackoning the next election is due around Autumn this year.
Let's see the flood of responses. It would be terrific to have a good election campaign.
Otherwise, it's a case of "someone else should do it, but they should do it my way!"
A lot of people worked extremely hard for the right to have a place on the board, it would be a shame to waste the opportunity. So if you think you can do a better job than the current fan's rep then here is your chance |

Perhaps if the 'membership' criteria is what's stopping people putting themselves forward then the Forum could rethink their election policy?
Just a suggestion. Probably easier to try and remove barriers than stand firm on principle. |

Don't think its the membership thats the issue.
In my case its living 90 miles from KDY, and having 2 kids under 5, and a wife that works weekends.
Need to wait at least 10 years before I go for it |

Which is why I'm greatful we've got Dave, and previously Tom, Alex and Ali who have been willing and able to take it on. I'm sure it's not an easy job, with a huge time committment and little reward.
I'm not promoting this very well, am I? |

The whole point of me starting this thread was mainly to get some feedback about rally round rovers but so far it hasnt happened.I put a wee bit in about the forum to see if i got info about them to see how they were doing as its quiet on that front aswell. It seems to have caused a huge debate but that wasnt the intention but.............. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

As someone has already said, are you not better going straight to the source of the information you want if you aren't getting the response you desire on Fantalk?
I'd go for the fans rep position if I thought I could dedicate the time to it but having two kids, working permanent evenings and only seeing my wife at the weekends, it'd be pretty low down on my priorities list. |

Another reason against standing, is that I don't agree with one of the forum members aims. |

Just a small idea that i have emailed the club about ...
Hi ,
I have had a little idea on how to raise a few pounds for the club now it is coming to the end of the season .
Would it be possible to have the players sign there strips that they have worn all season and auction them off . I.E. full goalie strip with shirt signed buy Dave Mcgurn . or John Bairds full strip with his signature .
If it is the clubs intention to keep the home strips for next season i'm sure we could do this with the away strip . I'm pretty sure we would attract some good bids for the likes of Brian Grahams strip. John Bairds, the two Walkers , Mcgurn etc etc . Even if this raises £500 its all in a good cause .
Just an idea which could raise a few £££'s
Best regards

Ian,
There is a scheme already running that seems like your proposal.
It's the Shirt Sponsorship scheme, pay £150.00 + VAT and you recieve a signed shirt from the player at the seasons end, this years presentation is a week on Tuesday.
I don't know if your proposal would run given this is in place, mind you there are probaly still some shirts not sponsored. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

I was not aware of that ,, thanks ,, .... It maybe that i have wasted my time there but there is nothing stopping the club doing it with left overs ,,
