And won again last night , however crowd down by around 1000 from what previous fixtures against their opponents would have been. Quite sure their money men will be concerned by the reduction in gate income.

Yes, last season's figures against Braehead were 2693, 3023, 2903 and 3052. Avg = 2918. However, Sunday's crowd was around same level as it has been for this season - 2018. Not bad though.

Currently losing 4-1 v Nottingham Panthers with 4 1/2 mins to go in Play-off 2nd Semi Final. Did well to be the only Scottish side to get there mind you.

Where did they finish in the 10 team league to make the end of season play-offs this year? 8th again? :/

Just seems a bit silly to me that general failure is rewarded. Surely just a ploy to keep league season 'interesting'? If I were a player who played the season and finished bottom half and were then somehow fortunate enough to win these play offs, I would feel embarrassed, not celebratory

It's impossible to take any competition where finishing 8th out of ten teams gets you a play off place seriously.

I'm glad they lost today though as their success has a direct effect on us.

Lost the 3/4th play-off match 6-0 to Cardiff with first choice goalie Brown skating off after third went in. Petulant?

What did you expect him to do? walk off?! risking slipping and looking like a numpty?

Realnotfizz, a serious question from a non hockey person....

I looked into it other night (the playoffs) and noticed the team (can't mind names) that finished 8th put out team that finished 1st in league....

Let's say that team were to WIN play offs, is their season considered more successful than team they put out? What is better achievement of two? Win a season long league then lose a tie over two games or be pretty rubbish all season before winning a few games at end?

It is the way hockey is structured . Battle year long to prepare your team to perform when it matters . If you are in first place you are therefore a quality team and should perform in playoffs . Upsets do happen ( just like Cup games in Soccer - ask Celtic lol ) . The playoff games are of high intensity based on this .
I always struggle with the way Soccer is set up as well > If you support a mid table team - what do you have the cheer about ? - Just watching your team play , hope for the odd upset win and perhaps you can fluke off a Cup win ?
Both have positives - Ultimately we just want to entertained - LIKE YESTERDAY !!!
I'm actually surprised at the support for hockey in Kirkcaldy - as a Canadian hockey lover it's fantastic

It's really not difficult to grasp. There appears to be a sizeable number of people who make a choice between attending one or the other each week. Them doing well will likely mean less people come to watch us.
