Time for talk of this group to stop and action to be taken towards setting it up.
Ideally we would have representatives of all fans groups involved in the 'Supergroup' and generally anyone else who is willing to commit some time towards fundraisers that the group agrees on.
The seperate groups will obviously still be doing the great work that they already do but setting up a group with representatives from each of these would also negate any chance of group's events being set up around the same time and hopefully optimise the amount of people that we get at our individual events by creating an event calendar as such and supporting the different factions who support RRFC financially, vocally and wholeheartedly.
I propose a meeting between interested parties/individuals either over the weekend or early next week so we can get this up and running ASAP.
Thoughts?... |

I think the first thing this group should do is look at what has happened before and understand the reasons why things have not worked in the past, how we can do things differently and look to remove the barriers which we have encountered in the past.
Otherwise, we risk repeating the same mistakes/problems.
My tuppence-worth - this group really needs to work as a team, and not simply a gathering of 'representatives' from other groups. I understand the need to co-ordinate and avoid clashing with other fans group events, but we need this group to work together as a team blind to individual allegiencies, otherwise it will become fragmented.
For me, this was exactly the problem with the Forum. It was less about "what can we do as a team" and more about "200 club can do this, the trust can do that, fife's finest can do this" and people remained in their silos
The people who attend this group have to be ones who can make things happen or are willing commit to doing things; not people who need to go back to another group to discuss.
If I go, I am representing myself and only myself. |

Great idea Andy.
The Fans Forum has worked to some extent however, it does serve another purpose. More importantly is your Supergroup with the specific aim of fund raising. |

Thanks Tam. There is no way I could claim this as my idea though. I just feel that it's being talked about so we're as well stopping the talk and starting the actions. |

I dont think it should be called a supergroup mate as folk will think its elitist and not get involved or slag it off.It would prob be best to call it something like RAITH ROVERS FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY GROUP or something like that.I am not telling you what to do andy and those who will be involved its just my opinion but i am sure you will agree aswell. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

correct, the name is irrelevant
plus, it is about fundraising and hee haw to do with being a community group, that is something completely different and needs to be dealt with separately |

The clocks ticking it's all talk and no direction.
I had a telephone call from the Rovers yesterday about other business and I did manage to broach the subject of a fund raising group with Turnball and he mentioned that it was something Dave Wann would get involved with when he returned from holiday.....in the interim any individuals willing to become involved if you can email me or pm me with your contact information to enable us to arrange a meeting to allow us to move things on.
I will contact Dave and advise him so that he become fully involved.
Let's hope we can form a group who will have a passion for the task in hand and for the betterment of the Club. _________________ supportrovers@aol.co.uk

If 12th man is cool about collecting details shall we agree to send them on to him then?
Soundwave is a project specialist for a major banking company so we're in good hands with the management of fundraisers in that respect.
I'll send my details just now. |
