gavin you know what i mean regarding the facilities at lesser hampden it is a template that we should look at portocabins along the Pratt Street wall or at the car park at the back of the north stand.I am trying to be serious here and give I hope helpful advice but if you want just to try and be flippant then again that is your choice. |

oh for goodness sake i was only kiddin as peterhead has a better social club than hampden but thats further away i have looked into all this social club stuff and have got prices for portacabins which the chairman has received and i even had portacabin boy thru getting measurements.what i want to know is who has any idea how to get the cash to do this without it affecting the club or the punters putting money into the club.i have some ideas about lotto funding etc but it would be good to get some feedback as we need £250,000 or thereabouts for it to be worthwhile.if we can get same sized cabins which will be 3 times size of the 200 club and all first class facilities with all paperwork etc etc for less then am listening. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

gavin like anyone starting in the business you go to the brewers to see what type ol loan you qualify for.Then you look around for support that is all the people that your group has entertained or taken out to various fund raising functions and produce a business plan for the brewers showing your projection and input from the people that have said that they will sponsor this project,you now have 2 things that have t be done (1) get a loan from the bank taking into account your sponsors and any money you put up as security.bash on |

Just a thought.
There are a few builders and plenty of tradesman connected with the club. Surely if the organising committee (if there isn't one it would be good to bring all these like minded positive people together, including the fans groups) gets all these groups together we could have a substantial building for a social club/ come clubrooms/office space etc. |

That sounds a good idea, having experts get together to discuss this and provide costings, timescales, etc....? |

The licence is probably extendable as it covers the whole ground (Corp' hosp', 200 cub & J McMillan Club too), said I suspect there are more pressing issues namely;
CASH! |

Buy a brick campaign, sponsor a window, a foundation, a door. Where's there a will, there's always a way. Especially with a passionate committee. |

The thing is you dont want any old portacabin for this to succeed you need the facilities to be first class or folk just wont use it.The company i spoke to was PORTACABIN i think they are from hamilton or thereabouts and they sent a rep thru to meet me.I have all the criteria of what we need but what we need also is how do we raise the cash is there local ways to get grants or can we get lotto cash.We dont want it affecting clubs cash flow plus at this moment in time the club have enough to deal with so its up to the support.Here is a link to the companys website if folk want to have a look at ideas etc and some are way out of reach of what we need but others give you an idea at what i am thinking.

£250,000? your having a laugh
With that sort of money being raised we could surely buy most of Starks Park back
Why don't the trust sell their holding in the club, setup the social club then buy back into the club with the profits
I'm sure a Mr W Gray would be interested
(Incase your insane, this option is clearly a stupid idea) |

Unless you've been asleep for the past 6 months you'll notice that banks aren't lending, and who will take personal responsibility for this debt?
Only way would be to setup a small ltd company e.g Raith Social Club ltd and take the finances from there, but that's still a huge risk to the banks |

donny86 you are very critical about people who are trying to think of different ways of raising cash for the team we support if you have any ideas about raising funds put your keyboard where your mouth is or shut up. |
