That's a bit harsh Bill, he's only saying what you know from personal experience to be true.
Maybe Donny was not trying to appear negative but was advertising for a benefactor/investor. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Easton 6, Gullan 6, Stanton 4, Dick 3, Vaughan 3, Connell 2, Brown 1, Frederiksen 1, McBride 1, OG 1. |

that as well maybe but he shouldn't go around critisicing people for trying to give advice about the problems they have had when trying to raise funds through various ideas and methods if he has a positive input I would gladly like to hear it,not just negatives.

I've not criticised anyone, I'm just being realistic about some of the funding options mentioned. With you running your own business you should know how hard it is to get credit in the current financial climate and as pubs are dropping like flies with brewers pulling the plug, I can't see us as being a high priority on the banks lending list.
I'd love a social club as much as anyone but at the moment there's just not the finances available and I think the best chance to get it off the ground would be for volunteer builders, sparkies etc to get as much of the work done for free and keep the costs strictly to necessaties e.g buying / hiring the portacabins. |

Then you know where I'm coming from
I think it's a bit much to expect one person to take the debt on themselves which is why I suggested the ltd company to spread the risk.
As the club would probably only be open on match days, it would probably take a while to pay back the debt with profits
Pubs are not very profitable (except for the brewery) so perhaps it would only sell bottled beers etc which would bring down the cost of a draught system and keep breweries out the picture. It would probably also cut licencing fees, health and safety etc. Cheap drink can be brought in and sold for say 50p profit per bottle.
A partnership could be established with a local pub to get exclusive use of one of their suites before and after games although that's probably no better than what most fans currently do |

Struggle to see why foundation's would be need Gav, surely since there portable there legs can be jacked to make level? From my previous experiences dealing with company like these, Portakabin is the most expensive one going. As someone mentioned before Addacabin in Thornton, although they are moving to Kirkcaldy at the moment, do good new and second hand cabins alot cheaper than Portakabin.
Just a case of shopping about to be honest. |
