Has the club considered asking the Abbey, Novar and other local pubs to sell 50/50 tickets on the day of matches in their bars. Given the locality of these bars not a logistical nightmare to arrange tickets to be at Starks Park by 3:30pm. You could always post winning number on website so that you could sell to non-attendees, would seem a fairly straightforward way of boosting ticket sales?

Good idea, Brian2711.

Someone would have to take responsibility for the money and get the ticket stubs back to Starks Park for the draw.
If the logistics were overcome, it would be welcome.

It's good thinking but slightly flawed, the trouble with that would be if the winner was still in the pub and not at the game.

People like transparency and like to see the winner on the pitch at half time getting the money, when it doesn't happen there are always some folks ready to scream "fix!"

Now if when selling 50/50's in the bar we can urge them to come along to the game too then that really would be a win win situation.

I also doubt the Rovers or the pubs have the manpower available to transfer the tickets and cash to SP.

we have office staff if a saturday is counted as a day that they are being paid then surely one of them could pick up the tickets. The majority of people buying tickets in the pub will be attending. Don't agree that it is big issue if the winner is not at the game - don't think people would stop buying tickets because they did not see the winner picking up the money. given how many tickets are sold at the ground in the majority of cases the winner would be at the game.

Fair play to the man, he is following the omerta, don't tell the wife.

Seriously though, he is giving the money to the club, well done David.

I rest my case.

I've seen opposing teams directors winning and handing the money over to youth dev' at Raith so why not a home dir?

Oh Vd, if that was purely sarcasm a wink or simile might have helped as I did notice the "Wann" inference.
