Have we a Freudian slip in the title of this thread?
As far as I'm concerned I think this may well be a case of the press looking to fill some column inches because its beloved Premiership has now closed for a wee while.
Alternatively, the players agent is trying to get a Christmas/New Year bonus for himself by touting his client's name all over the sport pages in the hope.🤔 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I'm not sure if the lad's personal past has major relevance here? He is after all a free man in our society.
Now his FOOTBALL past? Is that not a different story?
Not like me to be controversial, but I would sign him. |

The Courier appears to be all over this today and not all in the sport's pages. Even forms the whole editorial piece!
I'm still of the opinion that this is not happening.
It's a column inches filler at best or an agent heads up that clubs should remember his/her player is still out there and hoping for a percentage of a transfer fee. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Not sure many teams at championship level would be able to afford his wages. Despite being part time, he is apparently on a 4 figure weekly sum, paid by an investor. |

My Sister has just informed me of a Courier report today that Val McDermid has strongly opposed this transfer.
If this is the case, we must give credence to Val's feelings in this matter. She is after all, one of our main sponsors?
However, can we please have an addition of a proven striker if not Goodwillie? |

I'm a bit conflicted here.
1. Purely on football terms, he's a proven goalscorer and could be the missing link for us.
2. In terms of his chequered past, he has 2 assault convictions from when he was 19 and 21. No convictions in the past 11 years which might suggest that he's matured. Everyone deserves a second chance.
On balance I'd probably be OK either way. |

The Courier articles a) quoting Val McDermid's opposition to the move and b) a Courier opinion piece on the move are both dated 29th December 2021. |

Val said - “He’s not a role model in any sense. I don’t want him running around with my name on his chest. |

In another tweet she wrote: “I argued strenuously against this when I was a board member.”
Anyway,it wont matter a jot until or unless the club deny or confirm interest in him _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

A third tweet read: "Two criminal convictions and a civil finding of rape. That’s pretty guilty in my book".
She's kind of coming across as a self appointed judge, jury and executioner. |

Reading on P&B that folk took the time to email the club raising their concerns about us being linked with him with few replies from posters saying the club, notably Andy Mill, saying we're not looking to sign Goodwillie. |
