David Wann and myself have set up ‘Support Rovers’ to facilitate receiving donations to help run Raith Rovers
Any fans / businesses wanting to help run the Club can donate to the Support Rovers account by monthly standing order – proceeds from Fund Raising events and one off donations all which will be gratefully received.
Of course it is recognised that some fans mat wish to continue to donate through the existing supporter group channels
Account Name : Support Rovers
Account Nr: 06025487
Sort Code 80-16-84
Each month the accumulated funds will be transferred to Raith Rovers Football Club Ltd. to help run the club. A regular report will be posted on the amounts paid will be posted on ‘Fantalk’
Lets all hope that this will be fruitful and help towards getting the Club to the next level. _________________ supportrovers@aol.co.uk

Good idea 12th man I hope it takes off. Have you got a PR article for the official website and send it to the FFP and the Courier? |

I like the idea, but what are the chances of getting an insight into what specifically any monies raised will be spent on?
It's all well and good saying "This month, we raised £x", but I think a lot of people would feel a lot more comfortable if something like this was posted....
"This month, we raised £x - which will go towards the manager's transfer budget for January" or whatever else.
A very valid idea none the less, and one I will gladly contribute to when I can afford to . _________________ Oh no no no Geordie Munro,

Fans dont have to put money in every month if they cant afford it but that bank account is there i think for those who do fundraising and have made a few quid so they can support the club that way. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

Fair play to anybody who wishes to contribute, however, I think this is a poor idea endemic of the problems at our club... begging for cash to run the club
There is money to be made out there, and it is relativity simple to make. For christmas I had greetings cards made and sold them. It was a very mall scale initiative and as such they sold out within a couple of days. This made the club a good few quid. Why don't they do it for themselves.
If I were to 'donate' (AKA GIVE) the club money I would want to know where it was being spent. Personally I would want it spent on Youth Development - but not the (IMO) mis-guided elitist tiered structure but the 'open to everyone' sessions. |

KBID the amounts raised will be reported together with how the club has used the fund....it'll take a while till it gets going.... My initial thought that was if 100 fans / businesses contribute a tenner a month it would return 12K a year ....that won't happen overnight and tenner might not be affordable to some people. For those that can afford it it's 35p a day one less pint a week the cost of 2 packets of cigarettes a month....for those that can't afford it there will be other ways through fund raising that you can get involved and help . _________________ supportrovers@aol.co.uk

Think this is a good ideas, however, having just come back from 2 weeks abroad i may have missed any advertisement of this in the FFP or Courier. Can you confirm if this will happen as the only way it will take off is by telling locals/supporters of the idea. Also what is being done to get round all small businesses in the local area to speak to or write to MDs asking for a very small contribution every month. Rather than looking for 100 fans, it may be slightly better trying to attract 100 businesses. |

Teka i'm in the process of sending emails to the Kirkcaldy and surrounding areas business community, i have also a general email which i'm sending out to people to spread the word, email supportrovers@aol.co.uk and i'll send you a copy which you can forward to others.
The idea of an article in the FFP and the Courier i'm working on and i'm awaiting confirmation that the Official Site may run a feature _________________ supportrovers@aol.co.uk

12th man - as well as accepting money from fans, are you going to look to actively run fundraising or sponsorship opportunities.....???? |

GhostZapper i'll be running events to help raise funds, i've been a bit tied up with work and i'm probably not as far on with this as i would like to be.
I did say earlier that I was going to arrange the Leap for Raith which will be a sponsered bungee jump again due to work committments i've been dragging my heels with this.
With regards to fundraising i'll be hoping to form a committee to help speed things up.
Anyone interested in helping either pm or email me _________________ supportrovers@aol.co.uk
