Baird is under contract for next season, so unless a transfer fee appears then he'll be here. _________________ It's rainin' sideways! |

Teams with next to no budget aren't going to be wasting a chunk of it on transfer fees. The fact Baird won player of the year means his value has increased a bit more as well. Unless we get a very good offer I can't see him going anywhere. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

How mch would you say is a good offer? remember our budget will cut they could sell Baird and that would make up the Pars gate money then the club could continue just as good as this season without major cutbacks |

£40 - 50k would be a good offer. If we were offered that I'd happily take it but there won't be many teams with sort of cash floating around _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

i think that would be a totally unacceptable offer, reminds me of keith wright going to dundee for a measly £50,000 in 1986.
i would be looking for at least double that and even at that i wouldnt be happy selling him. _________________ 27/11/94 was good

50k in 1986 is a lot more than 50k in 2011
I think we would be lucky to get any cash for him to be honest.. More typical we would get a player exchange and a sell on clause. |

True for us but not football clubs post-Bosman (that Belgian git that ruined it for football! esp small clubs)
£50k would have bought you a fine house and car in 1986 but will only dent some mortgages even in Kirkcaldy in 2011.
Bah humbug!
Back to the debate if we were offered £50k for Baird the board would be daft not to take it...... sadly. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Not for a player who will probably leave us for nothing in a years time. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

Take the dosh sign 3 great midfielders a Cassa & a Smith and worry about the rest later.
Seems to work for everyone else. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

In 2000 you could get 4 players and still have plenty change from £50K |

Fees are far more rarer now that they were back in the day. Obviously Bosman changed it massively, but now the economics of the country mean we're all far more reserved. If Baird goes, i can see it being next summer on a free. |
