I'm assuming a legend can be any Rovers player in any decade, and not Just recent memory, is that right SOW ? What would qualify as a legend ? As I'm sure there will be some players from early 20th c who had brilliant playing records for Rovers e.g. the 1st Rovers team to reach the Scottish Cup Final

Sorry, Tade? The big man is one of favourites but he's only played 50 or so games for us. Mark Campbell and Laurie Ellis are the only current players who'd deserve a place in it and even then, there'd be a lot before them!

I am saying legend as in the fact they have played for the club at some point in our history and there wont be any present day players on the tiles. That will change obviously in future years but just now its ex players only. The list is the first 8 and in say 2 months time the next 8 will be chosen.

How about, rather than a tile, a framed or canvas picture of the player with a bit of information about him i.e. a wee description along with no. appearances, goals etc - more like a museum piece

Each picture could be sponsored by a local company/business or even an individual and this would appear on the picture. That way, the sponsor could nominate the legend

So anyone could nominate Mo Mendy, or my personal favourite Paul Hilland if they are willing to pay for it

it would have to something that would withstand the cold / damp conditions, as the concourse is reguarly power washed.

Say no more. This is a quality idea and I'm backing it all the way. If it gets Maurice Mendy in the Rovers hall of fame I'm sold - just name your price.

fair point. for the cost it would need to be decent quality, and withstand the conditions

plexiglass cover?

or how about something like this http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/video_nick_paints_a_posh_wall_of_fame_1_1351521

we could have had a hall of fame within the club but its never happened for some reason but if this works like i think it will all the players info will be there in the south stand for fans to see.

Thats a very important area SoW that urgently needs something done about it. The place where fans meet, guests, functions, other user groups use and they need to see the history of the club and the players that pulled on the Rovers jersey. The Trust has two such portraits to put up which were donated by Rovers fans from New Zealand and South Uist. These need somewhere safe and secure to be seen by all.

(and probably framed as well for protection)
