Mark Humphries was an horrendous player.
I remember him playing left back one day and every single ball (without exaggeration!) that he tried to play up the wing ended out of the pitch.
It was frustrating for a while until it became hilarious. |

Lee Dair, almost forgot about him, another misfit that dwelt on his so called gers connection, what a useless tube he was.
Also Willie Gibson, he was a massive let down. |

13 years between your reply and previous post. Have you been in jail for a serious offence? |

Anyone remember Jack Dempsey, wee barrel chested midfielder who “ punched above his weight” literally.
He was what was called an “ enforcer”.
Wasn’t the greatest of midfielders but anyone giving any of our players “ a doing”......wee jack would step up!!
I remember the chant “ Dempsey gonna get yuh”.......well fierce
Pretty sure it was late sixties......most teams had at least one nutter and methinks ours was out on licence. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

There's only one Dempsey listed in Neil Brown's list of former players, a Jim Dempsey who played at centre half.

My memory not great going that far back. Was it late sixties?
I started going around 1965..... .
I loved the white shirt with two blue hoops. Same as Montrose only their hoops were thinner than ours.....IF I recall correctly.....those were the days💙. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Jim played from 71 to 75 racking up 3 figures in appearances, he excelled in sending the opposition players several feet in the air. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |
