Good Idea. Could take one of the pie stalls that are unused and rent out some unused space seems like a good idea to me |

Great idea as hopefully Raith will benefit from those who win who happen to pass by the club shop on their way home with a wallet full of cash _________________ NO FOOTBALL FOR FASCISTS

Perhaps the best way to see if this would be viable for a bookie and the club is to ask a bookie for their opinion on providing a service and of course the club if its a financial gain. |

would be a great idea and i would rather bet there than give the money to one of the bookies in the town _________________ Goal Count 10/11

greig ,mario will not let anyone in the spare pie stalls because"i have spent money fitting them out"i quote him as was said during the ian brennan and douglas crombe time at starks.i understand his arguement but until we gain promotion this stall will be lying empty (storage space) so there is no chance of that happening. |

Can't we buy one of the stalls off the club/mario? |

Do we really have the crowds and demand for this?
There isn't a bookies near the ground, granted, but would it really be worth the hassle for 1200 fans, a significant percentage of whom wouldn't use the service anyway? |

Hmm target client for bookmakers would probably be something like;
Male - over 18 - sports enthusiasts - possible alcohol fuelled
Out of a captive audience of 1500-1800 (or more if we are doing well) how many would fit most if not all of that criteria?
I'm guessing it'd be an attractive enough proposition to Ladbrokes, Hills or Bet Fred etc.
If only 5% of the crowd used it and spent on average £5 I think they'd probably be happy enough. |

There was supposed to be a bookies when we built the new stands but it fell through because Rovers wanted to much and ladbrokes didn't think there was enough potential revenue, and that was when we had decent crowds, so I can't see it happening now. _________________ We dont need no stinking badges |

5% of 1500 = 75
75 at £5 = £375.
Would a bookies be interested in £375 less wages/costs etc? |

Possibly one that would have few overheads and would be looking for an in that could prove to be more lucrative than 5% especially in years to come.
Just a thought. |
