Following people saying that Grant Murray has been brilliant this season in the Ayr vs Rovers topic, I have decided to make this poll.

So who has been your best signing this season? Please state who you pick and why. Wink Very Happy

Very tough choice. Had a top 3 of Murray, Hill and Tade. Hill ruled out because of injuries. Murray has been superb all season long and hasn't put a foot wrong. Tade just shades it for me as he is a great attacking outlet, despite his lack of composure. He works tirelessly all game long and has played up front as a lone striker (not his favoured position) and acquited himself remarkably well.

I voted Tade. Very Happy

He tries so hard for the team and he loves the team as well. His reactions at the end of big games ie. Yesterday at Ayr when he came right up to the crowd for cuddles Laughing

I think he puts the most effort into the team (appart from the gaffer).

Grant Murray would have been my next choice. Without Sparky, Bert is the rock that the defence is built on and he is a leader, with or without the armband that somehow managed to come into the crowd last night Laughing

Ooh toughie.

Realistically, all signings have been good, but top 2 are Tade and Murray.

For me, altho Murray leads by example, Tade plays with his heart on his sleeve, genuinely loves playing for the Rovers, is brilliant at meeting supporters (signed my son's 47 top last night!) and is our unpredictable outlet. A real enigma, can be inspiring one moment and downright annoying the next!

So, Tade by a whisker for me.

While I'm a massive fan of Tade, and all the others we have signed this year I'd have to say it goes to Grant Murray. Three vital goals, one derby scorcher and a guy who looks like he is 10 years younger than he is in terms of playing ability. Dougie Hill gets an honorable mention considering I was originally worried that we had signed him.

Tough choice... but my top 3 would have to be (1) Tade, (2) Murray and (3) Gathuessi.

Tade - Like a lot of people, I was sceptical of him at first. He didn't exactly set the world on fire at his previous clubs, but having seen what he can do for The Rovers I'm converted on him.
He's the type of player that opposition defences hate to face - he's strong, quick, powerful and knows where the back of the net is.
Good piece of business by McGlynn.

Murray - I have always been impressed with Grant Murray. I liked him when he was with Hearts, St. Johnstone and Kilmarnock... he has a great sense of leadership and organisation about him, and he's not scared to stick his foot in where it hurts.
Great at the back and going forward. Yes, he may be in the twilight of his career but still a great player to have for the young lads in the squad and also while Sparky is recovering.

Gatheussi - Watched him up at Ross County last month and he played a blinder that day. Composure, skill, commitment, hard-tackling and hard-working... he's got the lot!
I bet Hibs and Inverness are choking on their Cornflakes for letting him go Laughing.

Of the others... Darren Smith hasn't played enough, I've not seen enough of Dougie Hill, Amaya needs to start more but always puts in a shift when he comes on, likewise Ian Williamson and as for Shields, waste of a jersey and a wage.

Would have to go with Murray closely followed by Tade.

Murray has been a god send considering the injury situation, his experience, composure and versatility have been vital.

Tade, while inconsistant and frustrating at times has come on to a game the last couple of months, we would be a much worse team if you took his power and ability to hold/run with the ball away.

Hill has handled the step up to 1st Division football well, been ashame he has been niggled by injury.

Thierry has added a wee touch of class to a tiring squad at a crucial time in the season.

Smith has 'flattered to deceive' at times but certainly has the ability

Williamson has done well on the whole, no complaints

Amaya.... Not given enough time on pitch for me to comment, not sure why, maybe need to ask McGlynn?

Shields.... Only one on your list I've been disappointed in, he has excuses so can't be too hard on him but has been a passenger at times when playing

Murray just shades it over Tade for me. Purely because of his consistency throughout the season. Tade has came on leaps and bounds after a shaky start though. At times recently, he has looked unplayable and his finishing has improved remarkably. Murray though, has been solid wherever he has been asked to play, which is a fair few positions. His screamer at East End and his heroic perfromance at Aberdeen spring to mind. His distribution and composure are excellent. McGlynn has to take great credit for bringing a player like him to the club. Surely there were 'bigger' clubs than Rovers looking at him in the summer.

Hill has had an impressive first season in the First Division. Good in the air, solid in the tackle but maybe struggling a bit with niggling injuries due to our hectic schedule. Gathuessi came in at an ideal time, with Wilson getting injured shortly after. Very solid defensively and offensively. Williamson is a bit inconsistent, I think because he is naturally a striker. Playing on the wing he still has the instinct to come inside whenever possible and go for goal. He has scored a few decent goals and I think in time he will improve as a winger. Shields has been out of the game for a year and it will take time for him to get his touch and sharpness back. Smith is your typical winger, if he beats the defender early, he will beat him all day but if he fails the first few times he can drift out of the game. Amaya looks promising, he could probably have done with the Reserve team playing some games to get him used to the rough and tumble of Scottish football. He definitely has a nice touch and an eye for goal. Definitely one for the future if we can hold on to him.

Murray for me, quite easily, I really like Tade but we were all dissapointed by Marv leaving and I think Murray has come in can play everywhere and is a better player.

There's a few candidates, but I'd go for Grant Murray. His experience has helped us greatly and he's played consistently well for us. A very good signing from McGlynn.

Hill has also played his part well, and I think has also excelled our expectations. Despite being signed as back up, he's forced his way into contention for a starting place with his performances when he was called upon. Again, another really good signing.

Tadé is also up there, though it's only in the last few months that he's started to show some real promise. He's improved significantly as a player, and hopefully he can keep that up.

Murray should win the overall Player of the Year, never mind signing of the season. Tade has come onto a game in the latter part and has been sensational, but Murray has hardly put a foot wrong all season. There has been 1 instance (was a home game, can't remember who against) that his mistake cost us a goal, but apart from that he has been so consistent over the whole season.

I think Tade has always had the ability, just not the set-up to support it and harness it in a positive way. When you look at this previous managers, they are the likes of Gerry Britton, Derek Ferguson and John Brown. Not exactly the most successful managers in the lower leagues. With all due respect to Clyde, Stranraer and Forfar, I think Tade is benefiting from a proper training regime under a manager who has coached at the top levels and it is bring him on leaps and bounds. I think if he carries on as he is doing, and improves next year the only way will be up for Fife's favourite Frenchman. Cool

I voted Tade, he has improved a lot since some of his first matches at Raith and has played a key role in getting us our trip to Hampden.

Marko, Murray and Tade are both in the running for the player of the year award, but my choice would be super Davie McGurn.
