Last seasons top scorer doesnt score enough goals for you?
seems a bit strange that statement seeing as he is only 23 years old and has lots of improving still do. Most strikers do not hit their peak until 27 so why slate the guy. _________________ No player is bigger than the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

How is stating the above slating a player. For a start it's fact and secondly if I had said he was totally useless then yes I would be slating him.
Weir may have been our top scorer last season, but, I will repeat he doesn't score enough. Maybe 15 - 20 goals would be a better return for our main penalty box striker.
In three competitive games so far how many has he scored, in the friendlies how many did he score, proves a point i think. We need two strikers that yes can do work outside the box but more importantly can do the business in the box. It's a case of who plays with Smith IMO and I believe that Wardlaw is the better all round striker, he has pace, height and strenght. |

In Graemes defence perhaps he might have netted more often last term had he been played more as he didn't really feature too regularly. That said I do tend to agree that even with more time on the field he wont be a 15-20 goals a season man, though I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.
Weiry isn't alone, sadly I don't think any of the strikers we have are in that bracket, until we unearth another Dazza/Keith Wright/Paul Smith/Colin Harris then we'll be relying on goals coming from all areas.
If only we could get our hands on a; Andy Barrowman or Allan Russel type that is capable of that illusive 15-20+ GPS. |

He was hassling the defenders lots and his goal was good as he created space for himself. |

Having watched Wardlaw on Tuesday night, I would certainly disagree that he has pace or strength compared with Weir. However, I shall look forward to him returning to the league side after suspension. Should be interesting to see who McGlynn picks on Tuesday night! _________________ Championship Winners 2023-24 |
