East Fife must be gutted!

Good luck for the future Graeme. Get your finger out.

Very harsh, say what you want about Weir but you can't say he didn't give 100% every time he played for us, his work rate was superb.

Why hasn't he scored a goal in two seasons?

In Scotland, the phrase 'his work rate was superb', when applied to a forward, usually means he is a heidless chicken that runs about like a dafty with little end result.

Soccerbase, the font of all knowledge, notes that Weir made 25 appearances this season and 30 appearances the season before. So 55 1st Division appearances and how many goals? He did manage to get 10 yellow cards in those games.

He has done pretty much nothing since 2nd May 2009. That's maybe harsh, but it's fairly accurate. He did brilliantly for us in the 2nd Division, especially in the crucial games at the end of the league winning season, but he's went missing for most of the last 2 seasons.

Weir never really got his chance with us in the first division though did he? There's only so much you can do coming off the bench with 5 or 10 minutes left.

I think the only game he actually started for us in recent times was the quarter final at Dundee and he was immense that day.

I think I'm one of the very few people sad to see him go, if Baird leaves he was the ideal replacement in my opinion.

He did look good in that cup game against Dundee and he started quite a few games that season (2009/2010). This season I can only recall him starting against QoS, I was amazed that Soccerbase had him down as having 25 appearances.
