I'd imagine so, unless he starts showing he is capable of playing in Division One. He looks knackered when he comes on as a sub. _________________ This is the year we win the Play-offs. |

I agree. He did absolutely nothing yesterday. Guys who'd been on the park playing their hearts out for 85 minutes were still doing more running and pressing of the ball. |

I agree with most of u on weir he is of form at the moment but we have to remember he hasnt played in the 1st 11 for ages I also think mcglynn doing the right thing with weir having him on the bench is good then bring him on for the last 15 mins he still got pace to run at the other teams defenders and he can score goals. |

Was reluctant to bring this up, but I noticed as well. He was only on for 10 mins including injury time but didn't do enough running and pressing for me. I'm sure that was the only reason he was brought onto the park. |

Yep, he doesn't press like he used to. Don't know why, but Smith was completely knackered for his last 15 minutes yet continued to force defenders to move the ball on, and when Weir on that just stopped. Needs to start showing something again or he'll be offski at the end of the season. |

Although I agree that Weir has been poor this season, I am sure his contract doesn't expire until the end of next season? Unless we release him on a mutual basis.
Give him time, he has had a few injuries. I for one would love to see the Graham Weir of old - he may prove vital in the run in. |

Think you're being a bit harsh here - they guy has not had a decent run (any run) this season and its incredibly difficult to come on in a game like Saturdays and make an impact in 10 minutes. I beleive you actually need a good 15 minutes anyway to find your legs and get up to the pace of the game.
Weir has had to sit and watch Smith, Russell, the guy from Hearts, Cassa all come in on loan and go into the team ahead of him. Can't be highly motivating.
I don't think he is an impact type player and either needs longer coming on as a sub or needs to get a start. |

I wasn't looking for him to make any real impact, and I'm sure JM wasn't either. All I was looking for was for him to run around for 10 minutes and chase every ball down. He dis this but it looked half-heated most of the time. |

Spot on. There were a few people around commentating on his lack of effort for the short time he was on. He started chasing and hassling but then just seemed to give up.
In no way am I scapegoating Weir for the goal at all but if you watch the video of the game then at the last move that lead to their goal he is ambling out. If he had been quicker out he could have been right on top of the Aberdeen player who fed the ball out to Aluko. Might have made no difference but a tackle there might have changed things.
He has been poor when he has come on as a sub in other games. There is definitely something not right compared to last year. Whether its the higher level, getting married or whatever. _________________ I don't want to go to Idaho, I'd rather watch Christian Nade |
