Well I have to disgree with u big ain on this one danny lennon was a good player for us and a fans favourate and he has done ok for cowdenbeith fc he got them back up from the 3rd divison to the 2nd and they might get a chance to ciome up to 1st divison this season plus he dosnt have much of a budget there but he has maneged to bring in some good players to the club if he wasnt a good boss there then why?are they top of the league.

They are top of the league because the teams they are playing against are much weaker teams than are playing in the 1st Division.

Also like big ain said i'd rather have a manager who can cope with pressure and keep us up if we got into a relegation battle.

I would go for Billy Brown with Cameron as assistant but not player assistant.

I agree with big ain. If Lennon hadn't played for us he wouldn't even be mentioned.

I'd like someone who has experience of how a professional (I.e SPL) club is run.
They don't have to neccessarily have experience as a manager (an assistant would be fine) but I've a feeling someone as inexPerienced as Lennon could undo McGlynns good work behind the scenes.

Agreed. We aren't the 'finished article' so need a bit of experience which makes Billy Brown (or someone of similar experience) the sort of manager we need should JMcG leave.

Also, Paul Smith may be more than happy to continue as no.2 if the new manager wants to keep him. He's done a good job.

I do admit though some of our ex bosses at raith who have played for us as a player as well didnt do so good for us example dazza was a rubbish boss for raith and then he went on to genafton to become boss of them. antonio calderron he was ok at times but it didnt work out with him in the end and u never hear of him now.

Calderon did a good job, he left cos he was asked to be no.2 to Anelka. I read in a recent Rovers programme (last season I think) that he's managing a league 3 side or summat like that in Spain (or is that Paquito)?

Finances will dictate who our next manager will be so there are a number I suspect on everyones wish list that can be discounted.I can see the Rovers going for the cheap option and offering the job to Paul Smith.

Calderon manages in the level below La Liga, with Cadiz I think, or is it Huesca? Can't remember. Not sure what Paquito is upto, but if anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

I think Lennon has done a great job at Cowden. He built a squad for 3rd division with no money, and he got them promoted to 2nd Division before the season had even started. Beat that.

Remember some of our managers in the last 15 years had very little or no managerial experience and ended up doing not bad, Nicholl, Calderon and Mcglynn, probably done a bit better than more experiencd managers we brought in.

Calderon manages Huesca, who got a draw at Betis yesterday - no chance of him coming back.

Wonder what would have happened.......if Anelka had never turned up at SP............But better late than never with JMcG!

He's trying to find his way to that place in America!!

I reckon Brewster would be a good shout. Always came across as a really professional kinda guy with good ideas, having experienced both Scottish football and abroad. I have absolutely no idea how much he'd be wanting but if he still had a hunger for management this might be ideal for him.

Don't like the sound of Lennon coming back as a manager. Leave him be and let him progress at Cowden....plenty time for him to cut his cloth.

Mixu is a big no no for me. That Hibs team he brought to Starks a couple of seasons back was an absolute shambles, and he rested against the dugout as if he couldn't give a monkeys.

Calderwood and Nicholl is a non-starter I'm afraid.

Don't know if I'd be happy with Billy Brown, he just comes across to me as a no.2..... bit like Archie Knox, always the best man, never the groom!

I'm going to throw Alan Maitland into the pot too. I know I'll get crucified for this but he's always done a good job with part time Alloa and think would do fine with a club our size.

Anyway gentlemen, McGlynn aint away yet!
