Maybe the players and officials of the club will get involved in decembeard where they can grow some whiskers for a the good causes raith and charity.What brillliant publicity that will give andy`s fundraiser aswell as everyone having a laugh at some of the beard attempts by them.Then on a certain day fans,players and staff can go to say styx,kitty`s or raith suite and have a massive shave off thus giving even more publicity to whats happening fundraising wise.Then again maybe not.............

As far as I'm led to believe, no players will be taking part.
Pretty disappointing as it would raise the profile of the fundraiser astronomically but I'm sure there is good reason in there somewhere.

Dave Wann tells me that Allan Crow at the FFP is keen on getting this advertised and there is talk of doing weekly photos of the beard growers.

Quinny, I know we talked about benefitting the charity that you are involved with setting up but in keeping with the club this season we are going to benefit Maggie's through Decembeard.

The sponsor forms are ready. PM me your email address if you would like me to send you the file to print off a sponsor sheet. I'll hopefully have them available at the club office for the Hamilton game too, I'll just need to get permission from Bob.

Get involved folks, it's easy money for the club and a very worthwhile charity.

I know of four people taking part so far but we could do with some more folk to optimise the amounts that we can make for both Maggies and the Rovers.

Sorry i am not involved this year andy as i enjoyed having my auld craggy features covered in a grey beard last year but you know my reasons why.If things change in the future then i will be the first to sign up to decembeard next year but things need to change.All the best to those involved and may the best beard win even tho its not a contest.One thing andy and i think you know this but your fundraiser could be massive and also be a lot of fun.But for some reason it hasnt happened yet so hopefully for you it will in the future as you put a lot of work in to organising it.

Aye, it has a lot of potential, Quinny.
Some folk can't do it for work purposes, some folk just don't want to do it which I can understand too but if there is no reason to stop anyone from doing it please get involved.
The FFP are very interested in covering this event this year and are running a wee bit about it tomorrow that'll hopefully get more folk on board.

I understand what you are saying mate but i wasnt meaning those that you have mentioned.Its good the press want to be involved which as far as i am concerned its about time too.

I hope you all take a great sense of satisfaction from the amounts that you raised. We've raised a fair amount for just five guys by the look of things.

It's that time of year again folks!

I know of three participants already this year without having to use my not so masterful powers of persuasion.

We've had a good laugh doing this the past two years and have raised a decent amount of money for RRFC, Victoria Hospice (1st year) and Maggies (2nd year) so hopefully folk will join up this year, grow a dangerous looking beard and become instantly more attractive to buxom, flexible Swedish supermodels (allegedly).

Benefit the Rovers and a local charity by not shaving!
