I have 100s of cds that i spent months organising last year to raise funds for raith and maggies centre.I am wondering if anyone can help me sell them or knows folk who want to buy them as they are gathering dust when they should be gathering money.I have cut the price down to £3 each to see if that will help sell so if anyone is interested please pm me or text me if you have my number.THANKS _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

I go my copy last year. Sorry I can't help you shift any more. It would be a shame to drop the prices so low as the beneficiaries will lose out. How about touting them around the stand at half times? No excuse about not making it to the shop then.
Good luck
Plus I do think that the PA could do more in the way of drawing attention to the CDs |

I mean no disrespect by this, but I think the simple fact that these have sat in someones shed for however long is testament to the fact that nobody wants them. |

Perhaps the PA could play a song each week from the cd, to promote it? _________________ Don`t stop believin |

You know something i dont know why i ever bother when i get answers like yours I.LATTO i did that to raise money for raith and maggies on the back of a successful gig.I got very little help from anyone to set up and sell them [apart from stelios]even at the gigs and i ask for help on here and thats the answer i get.I am selling em cheaper so can get rid of them to raise some money for the above and for the record they are gathering dust at HARLEM.I MAY NOT EVEN DO GIG NEXT YEAR IF YOU ARE THE SIGN OF APATHY TO COME _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

SOW, I thought the same about that response. never mind. How about a free ad in the local press? The FFP and Gazette I thought - not much point putting one in the DP or EFM lol. But there again if it's free go ahead:) |

I agree I Latto.I see nothing wrong with your original response but as usual SOW takes it in the wrong context |

Why not do a tombola in the run up to Christmas, perhaps the 5 December home game v Airdrie United and include several of these CDs. Also ask fellow fans to donate prizes for the tombola before the home game v Ayr United and possibly the cup game the following week if we get a home tie?
This should take up minimal organisation in getting the prizes donated (I assume there's somewhere within the South Stand at SP to securely store the prizes?) and perhaps an hour taping tickets to each prize.
Just a thought. _________________ A proud member of the 45. Saor Alba. |

You'll never satisfy everyone SoW, forget these guys who have commented, there are many many, many more fans and club officials who applaud everything you have done for the club and thankful for every penny you have raised. (along with a good few local charities) |

The response seems a little bit harsh. All the man is doing is saying he's still got some cd's left and wants to sell them for charitable benefit (and yes I count the rovers as a charity aswell)
Unfortunatley given my location I'm not sure I could persuade watford fans to buy 'em. I'll certainly take one, if you PM me a way to pay and how much the postage will cost I'll certainly buy one.
> Mr Latto just because you may think your statements are true (and I have no intention of arguing over validity), I think that post was a wee bit of a kick in the teeth. I can only assume we're all here for the same reason so it just seems a bit harsh and self defeating to come out with summit like that. |

I think that is a very poor response considering rovers4ever has put across a very valid suggestion, don't you?
Anyway, if you dont like a post thats directed at yourself, even if it is totally misguided and while i'm sure not intending to be, but has certainly come across as condescending and a little snyde, you can ignore them.
IMO, I think maybe the number of CDs remaining only proves that the demand is not there. I really hope you sell them and the club profits from what is a very excellent gig every year though. Remain optimistic mate. |

Raising funds for this club is a never ending road and inevitably mistakes will be made from time to time. Everyone gains experience from that learning curve and it's only natural that when any mistakes are made we look for assistance from our fellow fans to put things if not to right then at least "made better"
Pointing out he obvious is the easy thing for any of us to do (hindsight has 20-20 vision yeh?).
Gav isn't perfect but he does a hell of a lot more for our club than soooo many others. And yeh so maybe SOW wasn't exactly making an obvious plea for ideas but it doesn't take Einstein to to suss that stating the obvious (even in a round about manner) that the original order was a hundred too many is of little value to the cause.
Surely at such a stage it'd be far better to throw something pro-active into the mix no?

Further to my post suggesting advertising in the local press. How about taking that a stage further............
How about bunging in ads in the local rags in Blackburn, Doncaster, Bristol, & Tranmere. Just don't let on that it's Raith Rovers before they pay up!
None o' the songs are blatant Raith songs although Killiekrankie will take a bit of deciphering doon in Bristol. |
