Up was their last good record, and I'm not expecting any more.

RE:Nickelback.

Just got back from London this morning, seen Nickelback on friday night and must say they were AWESOME, played for about 2 hours and didn't hear a bad word spoken about them.

Saying that, the support band were Staind and they were piss poor.

Hey Alfie
That is a incredible music list . I am a big jazz fan ( I host a program on Sunday ( 4 - 6 pm your time ) at www.cjsr.com called Jazzology .
As you ,I love prog rock . How about Van der Graff Generator or Gentle Giant ?
Go Rovers!!!

Cheers Steve

will try and give it a listen.

Love jazz as well, but haven't see as many jazz acts as I would have liked. Missed out on seeing Chick Corea and Return to Forever when they were here last month. They only played London.

been to see this guy twice www.theotravis.com (link prob wont work)

He plays with the likes of Soft Machine, Gong and various others. Worth a listen.

As for Gentle Giant - got the album Giant Steps which is good but dont have much of Van der Graf. Am really into Hatfield and the North at the minute.

PM me if you want to keep this discussion going rather than bore people to death lol

Hey Steve what sort of stuff you into jazzwise?.
A few of my faves would be:
Miles Davis,John Coltrane,Alice Coltrane,Albert Ayler,Charles Mingus,,Django Reinhart,Billie Holiday,Herbie Hancock[though not so much his recent stuff],Art Ensemble of Chicago ,Jan Garbarek,Mark Ribot,Gutbucket,Mats Gustaffson,Evan Parker,etc.My All time hero however[tho not strictly a jazzer]has to be Robert Wyatt,what a legend.

Hey bristolrover
Sorry taking so long to respond
I am a fan of all styles , from Eric Dolphy , Charlie Parker , Weather Report ... not a big vocal jazz fan or extreme avant garde . I noticed Evan Parker - he can be a little much for me . If you get a chance tune in some Sunday . Take care .
Have you been to Stark's Park ? I will be there in a few years when I retire .
Go Rovers !!!
