19th September is international talk like a pirate day and to celebrate, some of us thought it might be fun to organise a sponsored pirate pub crawl treasure hunt in aid of RRFC youth development.
Basic idea is to get sponsored to dress up like pirates to go to the Rovers match against Morton, and then go round participating pubs on a treasure hunt where there will be fundraising activities.
Details still to be worked up, but if there's enough folk up for it we could raise a fair bit of dosh plus have a cracking night.
If there's anyone who would like to get involved, chip in ideas or are involved in local pubs who could help, please contact me.
Although this is being organised by Fife's Finest SC, it's an open event for anyone to get involved and it would be great to see loads of folk from all sections of the Raith support getting involved!
Aaaaarrrr!
Avast!
Yo ho ho ho,
Geordie Munro,
Yo ho ho ho,
Me hearty! |

Thought i'd raise this topic again, now that Rock the Rovers is over (for another year)
Thanks to everyone who has been in touch already about coming along, it's much appreciated. However there is always room for more pirates and wenches!
Kirkcaldy town centre are doing their bit for the occasion but running pirate-themed events throughout the day, and this is our way of helping out local businesses (well, pubs!) and raising money for RRFC.
Anyway, the plan is to split into 2 groups looking for clues - one team on a quest of the west end of the high street, the other the east; before meeting in a final location for some food.
Should be a good laugh, so if anyone is interested then let me know. |
